As in countries like Turkey, Egypt and Spain, in Peru you can also explore beautiful landscapes in a hot air balloon. Find out how much the tour costs and where you can live this experience.
More than 239 years ago, the Montgolfier brothers, of French nationality, showed the world their most important invention: the hot air balloon. Today, this wonderful device allows adrenaline and adventure lovers to enjoy beautiful landscapes from the sky. Do you know where you can live this experience in Peru? Coming up next, we tell you.
Hot air balloon trips began as an experience for scientists and then for adventurers, since getting on one of these devices is a unique experience. From the sky, the gaze acquires another rhythm and the passage is exposed to delight, as if time stopped.
In our country you can tour the beautiful Andean landscapes of the department of Cusco in a hot air balloon. Among the places that can be seen from the sky are the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Maras, Moray, Chinchero and Anta. Please note that balloon rides are subject to weather conditions. If the weather is not favorable, the flight is suspended and rescheduled for the following hours or days.
Flying over the beautiful Cusco landscapes in a hot air balloon costs approximately 250 soles per person.
A captive flight is a way to enjoy the essence of the hot air balloon and the comfort of having it tethered to the ground. This type of flight has nothing to envy of freestyle, since due to the skill of the pilots, it allows you to experience elevations in height and small displacements using mainly the natural wind rotors that are achieved by placing the balloon near a mountain.
The best time to go hot air ballooning is early in the morning, between 8 and 9 a.m. m., or after 7 at night, since during the day there are usually greater thermal currents that make the control and stability of the balloon difficult.
These currents are especially strong on hot days or times. Generally, with wind speeds of 7 km/h it can be done completely normally. It is from 11 km/h when it can get complicated and cancel the event.
Hot air balloons work thanks to the difference in density of the air inside the balloon with respect to the air outside. Inside the balloon there is usually helium or hot air, both of which are less dense than the outside air.
Many are the routes that take you to Machu Picchu, but none is like the Inca Trail Tours, the most famous pedestrian path in the Americas. After flying from the capital of Perú, Lima, you will arrive in Cusco to walk for four days along a path through forests and dense fog, millenary stone steps and discovering the ruins of ancient fortifications and Inca cities, and all the time enjoying majestic views.
